From the Ground Up XXIV opened on September 4, 2009 and ran through November 7, 2009.  It was held at the Las Cruces Museum of Art in downtown Las Cruces.  Submission fees for up to 4 entries was $30.  The exhibition juror was Blair Meerfield.  Best of Show was awarded to Suzanne Kane for "Places I've Been" pictured below.  First place went to Sara D'Alessandro for "Imbrohlio".  Second place went to Sara Ransford for "Revealed" and third place was given to Trevor Dunn for "Block Gear & Cantaro".

There were 67 exhibiting artists out of 73 who applied.  Eighty one works were selected from 253 that were submitted.  Total cash awards were $2450.  Sponsors included the Potters' Guild of Las Cruces, the Foundation for the Las Cruces Museums, Roberto's Mexican Food, Paragon Industries, Mayco, Bank of the Rio Grande, NM Clay, Scott Martin MD, Kimberly Martin DDS and J Brad Aday DDS, MS.
